Bus Times

From Quitumbre

Quito to Canoa

Currently, not even the bus companies know their own schedules from Quito to the Manabi coast, or at least those people that answer their phones. Reina del Camino is somewhat back in business and still makes a direct overnight ejecutivo run to Bahia, leaving Quito around 11:00 from their station in the Mariscal, passing through Quitumbe on the way. Their daytime ejecutivo bus to Bahia has been cancelled for now. They also have, or had, one direct overnight bus to Canoa, which now only goes when the demand is high enough. Otherwise it is cancelled and they send you to Bahia. Coactur used to have a nonstop run to Canoa that left Quito in the early morning, but that appears to have been cancelled. They now send you to Bahia, through Portoviejo. They also used to have a milk-run bus from Quito to San Vicente, which I am not sure of the current status. Another option is taking a morning Trans Vencedores bus from Quitumbe to Pedernales. From Pedernales you hop off and grab the first bus heading south to Canoa, likely with Coactur. Puts you in Canoa mid afternoon.
